A worktop that fits, together with what lies beneath it.

Cutting, openings for the sink and the hob, joints and edges: I fit the worktop, then connect the sink and hob straight after, since I am also a plumber and an electrician.

Survey

Measuring the walls — often out of true — so the worktop follows the room without gaping joints.

Cut-outs

Cut-outs for sink, hob and services, made cleanly and sealed against moisture.

Joints

Worktops joined at corners or along their length, with tight, watertight joints.

Edges and finishing

Finished edges, wall joints sealed, splashback fitted.

Connecting the sink

Sink, mixer, waste and dishwasher connected in the same visit.

Connecting the hob

The hob wired to a suitable circuit, protected at the consumer unit.

One worktop, three trades.

Fitting a worktop involves joinery, plumbing and electrics. Brought together, they spare one tradesman waiting for another, and a sink cut-out that does not line up with the waste.
