A washing machine or dishwasher needs three connections: a water supply with a stop tap, a trapped waste and a socket on a dedicated circuit. I do all three, plumbing and electrical.

What I do.

What a connection includes.

Water supply

A supply with a stop tap created or moved to exactly the right place behind the appliance.

Waste

Connected to the sink trap, or a dedicated waste created, at the right height to prevent backflow.

Dedicated circuit

A socket on the appliance's own circuit, protected at the consumer unit as the standard requires.

Relocation

Moving the machine to another room: I rework the water, the waste and the power together.

A leak under the appliance

Inlet hose, waste connection or trap seal: I find where the water comes from and repair it.

Integration

Fitted into a kitchen cabinet, with the connections kept accessible for maintenance.

Three connections, one visit.

A poorly connected machine means a waste that backs up or a socket that runs hot. As a plumber and an electrician, I deal with the water and the power in the same visit, each to its own rules.

Where I work.

Five arrondissements — the Left Bank, and the 16^th just across the river — covered neighbourhood by neighbourhood. It is the area I can reach quickly, which matters when water is running.
